The buzz isn’t really about the Adobe Flash Player app per se – it’s about the fake Adobe Flash Player update page that’s serving as a malvertising template for the Microsoft web browsers. This template is currently being delivered on MSN portal pages, as well as on other high-priority web portals – and it’s being detected by Windows Defender as Trojan:JS/Flafisi.D, which is specifically a detection for the FlashPlayer.hta file associated with the KovCoreG malvertising group:

This malvertising campaign is very widespread, but “targeted”; which means that not everyone who’s using the MSN portal pages is seeing it. However, the thread with the highest traffic for this specific issue with the fake Adobe Flash Player update already has well over 10,000 hits – and if we consider that this campaign is also serving up Tech Support Scam pages, and occasional rogue advertising pages, then the actual incidence of these malware-site redirects could be very high:

Since these forced redirects to the fake Adobe Flash Player update page; or to a Tech Support Scam page; or to a rogue ad are all being delivered via a compromised advertising domain that's connected to the host site (like MSN or Yahoo) – the malware will be observed and detected frequently upon returning to the host site, without indicating the presence of any persistent malware residing on the PC’s system drive. Since the malware is being delivered by compromised advertising domains in this case, the best defense is simply to prevent the connection of any suspect domains to the host sites with a good ad-blocker extension like uBlock Origin. For Microsoft Edge, you can download an ad-blocker extension directly from the Edge Settings menu:
Settings and more > Extensions > Get extensions from the Store
The documentation for uBlock Origin and the instructions for installing it on other browsers are available here:
After you see that the installation is complete go to the folder where you placed it. Open “Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Game” folder, click on the “Installer” and install it now. Use WinRAR to extract the file. Medal of honor pc games wiki.
Generally speaking, uBlock Origin will be able to resolve the malvertising issue with just the default domain-blocking configuration that's set up automatically by the installation. However, we have had a couple of reports indicating that uBlock Origin isn’t consistently blocking the fake Adobe Flash Player update page. If this becomes an issue, then consider trying uBlock Origin’s frame-blocking option:
